Kate Finan & Jeff Shiffman

Owners, Re-Recording mixers, Supervising Sound Editors

Kate (she/her) and Jeff (he/him) both began their careers with degrees in audio and music from within music conservatories: Kate at the DePaul University School of Music, and Jeff at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. They met while working as sound designers at a boutique sound studio in Los Angeles and immediately began collaborating, using their musical talents to mold the way that they thought about and worked with sound.

After half a decade, Kate and Jeff moved on to continue their careers as Supervising Sound Editors at Warner Bros. Studios. There, they streamlined their administrative capacities with new technology and continued to cultivate an extended collection of talented team members, from dialogue editors to foley mixers, sound effects editors to re-recording mixers.

With the shared vision of a design-focused, creatively collaborative company, Jeff and Kate were inspired to found their own studio, Boom Box Post. There, they have created a talent-driven boutique environment that truly lets everyone focus on the creative.
